Service Description

The Basics of Pistol Shooting class is a great introduction to the world of firearms. Beginning with safe handling of the firearm, you will learn how to acquire a master grip on the pistol, proper stance and presentation of the pistol to the target, and proper and efficient trigger and recoil control. Each student will have the opportunity to learn the benefits of the “dry-fire” use of a training pistol to hone their firearms skills. We begin training with an inert SIRT (Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) pistol which employs red and green lasers to teach muzzle control, sight alignment and trigger control. We then graduate to another laser platform: an inert recoiling firearm from CoolFire Systems. Unlike the SIRT which has no recoil, the CoolFire Trainer has recoil simulated by “Green Gas” when the trigger is pressed, and the laser is fired. Once the basics are established, it’s off to the range for live fire application of the learned skills, and the final exam. The student has the option of deploying their personal firearm, if it meets inspection of the instructor, or the student may use a 22LR semi-automatic available from our inventory. This course can be your first step in the process of obtaining the certification for your concealed carry permit. Individual and group classes can be arranged for those interested in becoming CCL holders. Alpha 2 Firearms Academy is a National Rifle Association, and USCCA Training Provider, and as such, upon successful completion of this course, you will receive certification for your participation. To qualify for the NRA certificate, you must be an active member of NRA at the time of qualification testing.

We appreciate the urgency that sometimes occurs in our lives. If you need to reschedule your class, please advise us at least two days prior to the date of the class. We will gladly work to get you registered at a time and date that better suits your life's demands; this is a one-time courtesy. Regrettably cash refunds for unattended sessions is not an option.
